The term "marking" covers a broad spectrum of surfacing techniques including printing, hot-branding, sublimation and laser/acid etching. Laser etching or engraving is the practice of using lasers to mark various materials. CO2 lasers are ideal tools to mark many metals. Some metals like anodized aluminum, Alumamark, and coated or printed metals can be marked directly. Other metals like stainless steel, bare aluminum, titanium, carbon steel, and chrome plating can be marked by using a metal marking compound like “CerMark” or TherMark” used with CO2 lasers.

Dye Sublimation is a process of heat transferring of an image onto different kinds of materials (substrates). An image can be created digitally, either by scanning, downloading a picture from a digital camera or done with a graphic/imaging software like Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW or similar.


Using special printer and special sublimation inks, image is printed on a special paper, then placed in a heat press on top of a substrate and during heating process the image is permanently transfered from the paper onto the material.
